Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 9th, 10:00 AM at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. Visitation will begin at 9:00 also at church. Interment will be at Howard Lake City Cemetery.

Lake passed away peacefully on
August 5, 2011
at the Howard Lake
Good Samaritan Care
Center.
Dorothy was born July
16, 1922 in Cokato, Minnesota
to Erick and Hazel Anderson. Raised in
Cokato, she later married Orville Carlen in 1943. This marriage was blessed with 2 children,
Barbara and Dwight. Dorothy later
married Otto Gruenhagen in 1953 and was blessed with four children, Gerald,
Kathy, Susan and Janet.
Dorothy spent many years as a dedicated mother and later in
life worked in the Cokato and Howard Lake
nursing homes. Dorothy enjoyed reading,
crocheting, cooking and sewing. She
cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy was a long time member of the St. James Lutheran Church and the
LWML.
Dorothy is survived by children, Barbara (Don) Lambert of
Riverton, WY, Gerald (Connie) Gruenhagen of Howard Lake, Kathy Steffes of St.
Cloud, Susan (Joe) Snyder of St. Cloud, Janet (Tim) LePage of Waverly, daughter
in law Janet (Mike) Ewert of South Haven; thirteen grandchildren, Steven
Mohring, Stacy Strasser, Rhonda Bakko, Melissa Feigum, Joseph Carlen, Christina
and Matthew Gruenhagen, Derek and Heather Steffes, Laura, Ellen and Chet Snyder
and Calvin Hugo; ten great grandchildren and brother, Myron Anderson of Luling,
TX.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands,
Orville and Otto; son, Dwight; son in laws, Jerry Hugo and Les Steffes;
granddaughter, Angela Carlen and great granddaughter Amelia Feigum.
