Nathaniel Dean Svela of Shakopee, MN was born November 10, 1970 and passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2024.
He graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1989 and attended Minnesota Riverland Technical College. After graduating with a degree in the Machine Tool Trades, he began his career in the plastics industry. He was Vice President of Sales with Profile Plastics, Chanhassen and sole owner/President of Svela Tech, LLC.
He loved to travel, be it business or pleasure. He loved the outdoors – fishing, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, scuba diving, riding his Harley, water skiing (he was a boat driver for the Shockwaves Water Ski Team) and an avid golfer. But his passion was hunting – ducks, pheasants, deer, prairie dog shooting and a recent trip to Alaska in hopes of bringing back a caribou or grizzly. He enjoyed spending time at a cabin he shared with his hunting buddies in the UP of Michigan.
He is survived by his father, Dean Svela and step-mom, Valerie Svela of Cokato, MN; step-dad, Al Reedstrom of Roseville, MN; brother, Jason (Jamie) Svela and their daughters, Sophie and Chloe of Prior Lake, MN; half-sister, Erin (Doug) Lawler and their children, Adam and Sarah of Lakeville, MN; partner, Julie Nye Stevenson, Shakopee, MN; aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
Nat is preceded in death by his mother, Lyn Reedstrom.
A visitation will take place Monday, October 7, 2024 at Lakefront Park Pavilion in Prior Lake, MN from 3:00-6:00 pm.
Internment of the urn will be private at a later date at the Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cokato, MN.
