Debner, Gary William 67

Gary William Debner of Maple Lake, Minnesota passed away on March 17, 2013 at the Buffalo Hospital.

Visitation 4-7 PM Wednesday, March 27 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake

Gary William Debner, age 67, of Maple
Lake passed away on 3/17/13 of sudden cardiac arrest.

 

Gary was born in Glencoe, Minnesota on May 5th, 1945
to William and JeAnnette (Maack) Debner.  He grew up in Plato and
graduated from Glencoe High School in 1963.
He went on to Mankato State University and graduated with a degree in
Economics and Math.

 

On October 1st, 1966 Gary married Patricia Evelyn Simmons,
at St. Anne’s Catholic Church of Le Seuer.  The couple lived first in Mankato,
then Plymouth, then Wayzata, then Buffalo.
After Patricia passed away on July 28th, 2010 Gary made his
home in Big Lake, then Maple Lake for the past 5 months.  Gary worked in the
IT field for IDS/American Express Financial,
where he retired after 35 years.

 

Gary’s passions included hunting, fishing and sports where
he was a participant beginning in his youth, baseball and basketball being his
favorite.  His passion for baseball,
where he led his high school and town team, presented him with offers of sports
scholarships.  He chose to attend Mankato
State on an academic scholarship where he played collegiate baseball as well.  Following his playing days he also coached
youth baseball for many years.  In his
recent years Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid sports
enthusiast, willing to share conversation with anyone about recent games, plays
and stats.

 

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, William and JeAnnette
Debner; his wife Patricia Debner; his infant daughter Elizabeth.

 

Survived by his children, Kristin (Richard) Lord of
Monticello and Michael (April) Debner of Howard Lake; his grandchildren, Amber,
Jessica, Aiden and Ian; his sisters, Lavonne Carlbloom of Glencoe and Virginia
(Arlo) Schultz of Elk River; his cousins, nieces and nephews.
