Marilyn Janet Lois Ellingboe (Hasti)
Marilyn was born November 9, 1933. She was the second of four children. Raised in South Minneapolis and graduated from South High. Marilyn enjoyed many summers in Cokato, MN.
Marilyn taught for 30 years in Minneapolis and Anoka Hennepin School Districts. She retired on her 68th birthday. Marilyn then worked at JC Penny for nine years. Teaching Sunday school to countless children was a joy throughout her life, and retired this may.
She loved spending time with family, in her garden, camping, reading and puzzles. She also enjoyed her travels, especially to Paris for her 70th birthday, horseback riding in Montana and Michigan for St. John’s trips.
Preceded in death by her parents Emil and Esther (Wanha) Hasti, brother Curtis, sister Virginia and son James.
She is survived by six children: Katie (Dave) Hendrickson of Dassel, Shirley Ellingboe of Crystal, Sarah Ellingboe of St. Cloud, John (Jonna) Ellingboe of Minneapolis, Mari (Tim) Johnson of Montrose, and Jenny (Habtamu) Tamiru of Plymouth; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; sister Caroline Luoma, brother Greorge (Deb) Hasti and Roger (Kathy) Evenson.
She opened her heart and her home to many over the years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Long Lake (2300 Cox Tr.), Minnesota with visitation beginning 2 hours prior to the service at Church.
