Lois Jean Grosser 83 of Cokato, passed away at home on 1/22/2013

 

Funeral service: 11 AM Monday, 1/28/2013 at Evangelical Lutheran Church of
Cokato

 

Visitation: 3-6 PM Sunday at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato and
1hr prior to service at church on Monday

 

Interment; Ft. Snelling National Cemetery

Lois Jean Grosser, was born in Minneapolis,
Minnesota on September 18, 1929 to Edward and Edna (Lindblad)
Hughes.  She grew up in Minneapolis
and graduated from Minneapolis South
High School in 1947.  After school she worked as a dental assistant
for Dr. Anderson in the Medical Arts
Building in Minneapolis.

 

On June 27, 1959
Lois married Donald Grosser at the St. Paul’s
Evangelical Lutheran Church of Minneapolis.
They lived in Minneapolis
and New Hope before coming to
Cokato in 1970.

 

Lois worked at Stan’s Jack and Jill until its closing, the
Richwell Furniture, Tomer Knife Factory, Dura Supreme and finally Hojies Grill
in Dassel.  She was a very active member
of the Cokato Evangelical
Lutheran Church,
Cokato American Legion Auxiliary, and an officer for the Minnesota Dental
Hygienists’ Association.  Lois enjoyed
Brazilian embroidery and baking.  Most
important to Lois was her family.

 

Lois passed away at her home in Cokato on January 22, 2013; she had reached the
age of 83 years 4 months and 4 days.

 

Survivors include her children: Mike (Cathy) of Waverly,
Steve (Liv) of Plymouth and
Virginia Grosser of Cokato.
Grandchildren: Kashia (boyfriend, Eric Anderson), Kellen (fiancée
Cynthia Grangroth), Benjamin, Shelby, Molly, Isaac, Jonathan “JJ”, Dominick,
Peyton, Hannah. Nephews: Robert, Russell and Randy Belmont. Best friend for 72
years Donna Smith.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Edna,
Husband

Donald, Brother Loring, Sisters Virginia and Patricia, granddaughter Amy, and
special friend Ruth Weir.
