Humola, Roger William 75 of Annandale. Passed away at his home on
3/4/2013.

4PM Friday 3/8/2013 at St. John’s Lutheran
Church of Annandale. Visitation 4-8 PM
Thursday at St. John’s, and 1hr prior
to service on Friday at church. Memorials to Mary
Ann are preferred in lieu

Roger William Humola, was born in Cokato. Minnesota
on April 26, 1937, to Issac
and Lillian (Johnson) Humola.  He grew up
in Cokato and graduated from Cokato High
School in 1954.
He went on to Gustavus College
for a year and then to the University
of Minnesota for 2 years.

 

On October 26,
1957 Roger married Mary Ann Hill, at the Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Cokato.  The couple lived first
in Robbinsdale from 1957 to 1967, then Golden Valley
until 1986, then Plymouth until
1997, and Annandale since then.  Roger has worked in various financial
institutions, rising from bank manager to vice president/manager.

 

Roger enjoyed being a handyman, (his “Rent-A-Retiree”
business was his last job and he also worked on his children’s
homes).  Boating, fishing, golfing, deer
hunting, traveling, spending time with family and of course spoiling his
children and grandchildren were his passions through the years. He loved Sunday
brunch with their church friends and Thursday “Hamburger Nights” in Maple Lake.

 

Roger was President of Coon Rapids Rotary Club, on the board
of directors for Anoka Chamber of Commerce, member of Coon Rapids Development
Corporation, he was on the Fridley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, he
was President of the Institution of Financial Education, served on the church
council at Holy Nativity
Lutheran Church
in New Hope, MN.
served on finance and stewardship committees at Holy Nativity and Calvary
Lutheran of Golden Valley and he belonged to Kiwanis in Annandale.  He also taught confirmation classes and coached
his children’s sports teams such as baseball, softball and football.

 

Roger passed away at his home in Annandale
on March 4, 2013.  He had reached the age of  75 years, 10 months and 8 days.

 

Survivors include Wife: Mary Ann Humola. Children &
their families: Rita Humola-Nelson, husband Brian Nelson, daughter Paige Nelson
and son Dain Nelson.  Renee Martin,
husband Robert “Bob”, daughter Nicole and son Chad.  Randy Humola, children Kyrie Yaccarino, Chloe
and Carter Humola.

 

Roger is preceded in death by: his parents Issac William
“Bill” Humola and Lillian Humola (nee Johnson).
