Marlyn Willis Johnson was born August 8, 1929, to Earl and Signe (Swanson) Johnson, at Stockholm
Township, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm in Stockholm
Township and attended school there.
Marlyn joined the United States Marine Corps.
In 1957 Marlyn married Susan Ruth Vogel at the Knapp (North
Crow River Lutheran) Church. The couple
lived in Cokato for a short time and then resided in the St. Paul/Minneapolis
area.
Marlyn was employed by North Central, Republic and Northwest
Airlines, retiring when he turned 62.
Marlyn and Susan loved to travel. They visited Japan,
the United Kingdom,
and enjoyed various tours in Canada. They went on trips to New
York City, Las Vegas,
Branson, Disney world in Orlando,
and his favorite place Hawaii.
Marlyn passed away at Abbott Northwestern Hospital of
Minneapolis on February 15, 2013.
He had reached the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 7 days.
Survivors include his sons; Daniel of Minneapolis and David
of Inver Grove.
He is preceded in death by: his parents Earl and Signe, and
wife Susan.
Funeral Service for Marlyn will be held at 11 AM Saturday February 23, at North
Crow River Lutheran
Church
Visitation: 5-9 PM
Friday at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato and 1hr prior to service at
church on Saturday.
