Lois Marie Munson Kratochwill was born September 22, 1920 in
Howard Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Charles and Marie (Kreitlow) Adams. She was baptized at the First Presbyterian
Church, Howard Lake and confirmed in her faith at St. James Lutheran Church,
Howard Lake on March 25, 1934 by Pastor C.G. Seltz. On October 6, 1943, she was married to Roger
Munson at St. James Lutheran Church.
Their marriage was blessed with three sons.
She was an active member of St. James Church serving as a Sunday
School teacher, singing in the choir and in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary
League. In 1967, Lois and her sister made a huge pinecone wreath that hung in
the St. James Church narthex for years.
She was active in various committees at St. James Church and when
enjoying winters in Texas, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, McAllen Texas. On September 2, 2000, Lois married Gerald
Kratochwill at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Waverly.
It was on October 2, 2011, while a resident at the Howard Lake
Good Samaritan Care Center that Lois was called to her eternal rest. She had reached the age of 91 years and 10
days.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Marie
Adams; husband Roger Munson; sisters LaVerne (George) Krohn and Dorothy
(George) Jones.
Lois is survived by her husband Gerald Kratochwill; sons Allan
(Donna) Munson, Randall (Sharon) Munson and Tim Munson; stepchildren Lyndon
(Kay) Kratochwill, Karen (Bill Bonnstetter) Killoren, Wayne Kratochwill;
grandchildren Aaron (Liz) Munson, Jennifer (Neil) Wikoff, Corey (Michele)
Munson, Russel (Allie) Munson, Sheryl (Jeremy) Vold and Scott Munson; great
grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers are her grandchildren and their spouses.
Officiating at the celebration of her life today are Reverend
Martin Schoenfeld and Reverend Michael Nirva.
The Ladies of the LWML will sing “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” with Mrs.
Nancy Butterfass serving as organist. “The
Lord’s Prayer” arrangement written by Scott Munson is being performed by Scott,
Aaron and Russel Munson.
Interment will be at the Howard Lake
Cemetery.
