Larson, Gary Allen
age 68, of Howard Lake, MN passed away on October 25, 2015 at his home. He was born August 14, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN to Wayne and Marcella (Pesek) Larson. Gary grew up on the family farm in Canby, MN. Following graduation from Canby High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and received a honorable discharge. Gary attended trade school, studying welding and masonry. On December 7, 1968, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Ann Mueller. They made their first home in Minneapolis and in 1969, their first child, a daughter, arrived, Tiffany Anne. The family moved to Waverly, and in 1973, a second child, a son, James G. Allen was born. In July of 1977, the family relocated to Garrison, ND. In 1987, Gary and Kathryn were blessed with a third child, a son, Curtis S. Loe Allen. The family moved back to Minnesota in 1991, and settled on a small hobby farm outside of Howard Lake. Gary worked throughout the Twin Cities and North Dakota as a mason until his retirement in 2009. Following the loss of his wife, Gary persued a business with his passion for dogs. Yellow Lab Kennel was established in 2009 and grew into a canine family with 7 dogs and many happy puppies. He spent his last years raising puppies, pheasants, and traveling across the western United States to places he enjoyed.
Gary is survived by his children, Tiffany A. L. Sipe of Watford City, ND, James G. A. Larson and wife Jodi of Fort Collins, CO, and Curtis S. Loe A. Larson and wife Cassandra of Watford City, ND, grandchildren, Dakota Anne K. M. Sipe, and Nicholas and Grace Larson, sister, Lynn (Dale) Christensen, brother, Dale (Sharon) Larson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
