Wallace Odin Nygaard, age 65 of Cokato passed away on November 29, 2011. He was born July 6, 1946 in Colfax, Wisconsin to Odin and Lucille Nygaard. The 4th of 5 children: Merlin, Kenith, Joyce, Wallace, and Jane. Wallace is preceded in death by Joyce and both parents Odin and Lucille. Wally moved to Minnesota in 1958, and attended Cokato High School. Wally was united in marriage to Carolyn Schultz on March 21, 1970. Wally and Carolyn had 3 children: Eric, Kimberly, and Tammy. Wally worked for Stearner Lighting in Winsted, MN. for 16 years. Wally also enjoyed helping his brother Merlin around on his farm. Wally loved to fish, hunt, garden, and spend time with his family. Wally is survived by his wife: Carolyn, son: Eric (Theresa), grandsons: Eithian, Bricen, Preston, and Logan Nygaard, daughter: Kimberly (Justin) Grob, grandsons: Brennen, Seth, and granddaughter: Breah Grob, daughter: Tammy, granddaughter: Cassandra, grandson: Carson, brothers: Merlin, Kenith, and sister: Jane.
Memorial service: Saturday, December 3, 2011, 2:00 pm at North Crow River Lutheran Church, north of Cokato, with visitation beginning at noon at Nygaardchurch. Internment to follow in the church cemetery.
