Scheveck John Peter, 81


John Scheveck Passed away at St. Mary’s Care Center of Winsted on July 12, 2017.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday, 7/17/2017 at St. Mary’s Church of Waverly. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM at church on Monday. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery of Waverly
John Peter Scheveck was born on March 27, 1936 to Louis and Amelia (Povlitzki) Scheveck in Geneseo, North Dakota. He grew up and attended grade school in Geneseo. He went to High School in Lidgerwood and graduated in 1954. John first attended college at North Dakota School of Science, now called North Dakota State College of Science. He then went on to the University of North Dakota and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1958. On August 24, 1957, John married Lois Arlene Jereski. He went on to Grad School at UND and completed his Master’s degree in 1962.

John was a teacher in Argyle Minnesota from 1958-1966 and was Principal from 1966-67. In 1967, the family moved to Howard Lake where he served as Principal of the High School until he retired in 1992. John enjoyed woodworking, reading and collecting sports cards and comic books.

John passed away at St. Mary’s Care Center of Winsted on July 12, 2017. Survivors include- Wife: Lois of Howard Lake, Children: Mark (Patti) Scheveck of Crystal MN, Julie Harrington of Roberts WI., Mike (Bonnie) Scheveck of Brooklyn Center MN., Grandchildren: Kelly, Abby, Sophia, and Andrea and Siblings: Clarence Scheveck, Eleanor (Peter) Paczkowski, Edward (Joan) Scheveck, Marlys Novotny, and Mary Ann Scheveck.

John was preceded in death by: Parents Louis and Amelia, Son Paul, and Infant Sister.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society of Minnesota.

Brown, Lenore Ann 77

Lenore Ann Brown, 77, of Cokato Minnesota passed away on July 5th in her home surrounded by family.
Lenore was born in St.Paul Minnesota on November 12th 1939. She graduated from Cloquet high school.
Lenore was married to Russel Brown on December 23rd 1957.
Lenore worked a wide variety of jobs including being a travel agent, a book keeper, and most recent was a parts delivery driver for Holt Motors of Coakto. She enjoyed photography, gardening, and crafting. Her most cherished hobby was Quilting for Quilts of Valor. She took great pride in quilts that were awarded to veterans.
Lenore is survived by husband Russel Brown, Children- Barbra Peterson (Ford), Lori DeAntoni, James Brown (Melanie), Sheri Hoyhtya (Kenneth). Grandchildren-Renee Kruger (TK), Jennifer Todnem (Derrick), Samantha Peterson (Aaron), Nic Brown, Eloise Brown, Deangelo DeAntoni. Great Grandchildren- Makenna Todnem, Kaden Todnem. Brother-Kenneth Gustafson (Rebecca)
Lenore is preceded in death by her parents Hugo & Hulda Gustafson .
The Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 10th at 1pm at Swanson Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato with visitation held an hour prior to the memorial service.

Anderson, Florence Bernice 91

Anderson (Erickson), Florence Bernice
age 91, of Cokato passed away Thursday, June 29th, 2017 at St. Cloud Hospital. Florence was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 14th, 1926 to Ruby and Otto Erickson. She grew up in Stockholm and Grove City, Minnesota. Florence graduated from Grove City High School and went to Normal Teacher’s Training in Litchfield, Minnesota. She taught Country School at Lake Jennie and Henderson. Florence was united in marriage to Evald Anderson on June 7, 1947. They made their home in Lamson and had two children, Gordy and Jane. Florence and Evald were involved in farming and the establishment of Anderson Seeds. Florence was a dedicated farm wife and mother.
Florence enjoyed crafts, quilting, garage sales, and reading, as well as her many duties as a farm wife. In 1977, Florence and Evald moved to Cokato. For many winters, they spent time in Yuma, Arizona. Some years after Evald’s death she became a resident of Edgewood Gables, where she enjoyed bingo, Dominoes and cards. She was involved in many activities.
Florence will be dearly missed by her two children, Gordon (Jeanie) Anderson, of Cokato, MN and Jane (Keith) Quanbeck, of Ankeny, IA, her seven grandchildren, Shawn, Shannon, Ryan, Megan, Anna, BJ, and Danny, her 13 great-grandchildren, her brother John (Barb) Erickson, her sisters-in-law, Mae Evenski, and Sally Erickson, as well as many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Roger and Chuck, and her sister Dorothy.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Stockholm Lutheran Church. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato, and continue 1 hour prior to services at church on Thursday. Treadway, Gerald Leslie 69


Gerald Leslie Treadway was born November 26, 1947, to Herbert and Marilyn Treadway in Sanger, West Virginia. He grew up in Sanger and Oak Hill, and entered foster care at a young age. He moved to Columbus, Ohio at age 7 and graduated from Central High School in Columbus.
After School he ran a fast food place, then a gas station. Then spent time in the military. He later took a job with Shoe Corp. as a forklift operator. He did tax preparation for H&R Block. Later in life he decided to become a nurse and trained for his LPN. He worked at nursing homes in Columbus Ohio, Howard Lake and Winsted, Minnesota. He had moved to Minnesota in 1993.
Gerald Married Loma Janusch on June 6, 1998, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of rural Annandale. The couple was married by Reverend Berlinski. . He enjoyed fishing and motorcycling. He spent many hours working on cars with his father and brothers; Mike and Dennis. They also enjoyed motorcycling together and took many long rides. Gerald enjoyed music and played the guitar.
Gerald passed away at Mercy Hospital of Coon Rapids due to heart trouble on June 22, 2017. He had reached the age of 69 years, 6 months and 26 days.
Survivors include his wife Loma of Litchfield, children: Joel, Wendy, and Stephany of Columbus, tom of North Carolina. Grand daughter Devin Mccaig and great grand son Jackson Stephens. ½ brothers Michael and Dennis of Columbus.

A memorial service will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 at 4 PM. At Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake, Minnesota.

Boss, Megan Joan 27


Boss, Megan Joan
age 27, of Montrose passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2017. She was born March 8, 1990 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota to Marty and Joan (Glessing) Boss. She was baptised and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. She attended Howard Lake High School and graduated from Buffalo High School in 2009. She was pursing a nursing degree at St. Cloud Technical College.
Megan’s love of her life was her son Marshall. She enjoyed the ocean, the beach, and turtles. Megan also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Marvin Glessing.
Megan will be forever loved and remembered by her son, Marshall, parents, Joan and Marty, brother, Jacob, grandparents, Delores Glessing, Jim and Darlene Boss, as well as her many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
A celebration of Megan’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4-7 PM with 6:30 prayer on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake and continue 1 hour prior to services at church on Saturday.
