Boxell, Jeffrey Donald 68


Jeffrey Donald Boxell, Passed away at Hill Top Care Center of Watkins on July 19, 2014. Memorial Service will be at Noon on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday. Interment will be at the Howard Lake Cemetery.

Jeffrey Donald Boxell was born on September 25, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Donald and Evelyn (Longson) Boxell. And led into the Arms of his Lord and Savior on July 19, 2014.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. He is survived by: his wife of 51 years Pat, his two sons; Jeff (Linda), and Jamie (Leslie). 5 grandsons, 1 grand daughter, 1 great-grandson, 4 brothers. Many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Henning, Joseph James 32

Joseph James Henning, 32, of St. Cloud, MN, formerly of Cokato/Howard Lake passed away Saturday, July 12. He was born May 23, 1982 in Minneapolis, MN to James and Sherrie. Joe was baptized on June 27, 1982 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and confirmed in his faith in Bemidji in 1996. He graduated from Faribault Academy in 2000. After graduation he continued his education through several accomplishments in the technology field at St. Cloud Technical College. Joe was known for his love of computers and ongoing technology projects. Anyone with a computer problem knew they could ask Joe. Joe had a never ending thirst for knowledge, and continued taking classes to better himself. He received certifications that we didn’t know existed; such as, CompTIA, Network K+ Certified, A+ Certified CE, Certified Wireless Network Administrator, and Certified Wireless Technology Specialist. His latest project was to become a Volunteer Examiner for Amateur Radio License. Joe was so proud of his accomplishments and would call us immediately. Joe loved talking and discussing his work and hobbies with all.
Joe is survived by his mother, Sherrie (Greg) Terning and brother, Travis (Robyn) Henning, niece and nephew, Mason and Madison, step-brother, Brent (Chelsea) Terning and children, Morgan, Oliver, Claire. Along with Step-brother, Jared (Amy) Terning and children, Gavin, Mallory, and Hayden, Grandma Manetta Penner, Great Aunt Deloris Leifermann and special friend, Aly Fox. Grandparents, Norman and Elmie Henning, aunts, Kim and Linda, uncles, Wayne and Dan, cousins, Matthew and Katherine, other relatives, and many friends.
Preceded in death by father, James Henning, grandfather, Clarence Penner, and great-grandma, Clara Pfeil.
Blessed be Joe’s Memory
A Celebration of Life will be at Stockholm Lutheran Church, Cokato at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 17. Visitation from 11:00 – 1:00 PM prior to service. Internment to follow at the church cemetery.

Pettit, Ryan Paul 39

Ryan Paul Pettit was born October 2, 1974 in Watertown Minnesota the son of Jerry and Lynette (Jopp) Pettit. He was baptized October 20, 1974 by Pastor Taylor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Watertown and confirmed in his faith by Pastor Schultz at St. James Lutheran, Howard Lake in 1990. In 1993, Ryan graduated from Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School. Pursuing his education he attended the University of Minnesota and St. Cloud State receiving degrees in Biology, Chemistry and Business.
He was married to Amy Huhn. They were blessed with six children with the blessing of another daughter expected in September.
During his career he had been employed at the St. Cloud Hospital and by Pauly’s Plumbing of Winsted. These last three years he enjoyed his most important job of all by being a stay-at-home dad. Ryan enjoyed coaching and officiating in all the Laker sports. He had a love for hunting, fishing, entertaining and cooking but his main focus in life was raising his children. Ryan will be remembered by all for his sense of humor.
While at home on July 9, 2014 Ryan was suddenly called to his eternal rest having reached the age of 39 years, 9 months and 7 days.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Alden Jopp and Russell Pettit.
Ryan is survived by his wife Amy; children Hathaway, Lily, Joshua, Cash, Kensington, Cooper and expected baby girl; his parents Jerry and Lynette; sister and brother-in-law Ándrea and Jake Rasdall; nieces Lauren, Makenna and Emmery; grandmothers Irene Jopp and LaMae Pettit; uncles and aunts: Jim, Jon and Dorothy, Joel and Kristen, Jeff and Connie, Jay, Daniel and Barb, Jesse and Michele, Mary and Melissa Pettit; Dale and Charlotte, Dean and Paulette, Dennis and Nadine Jopp; many cousins, great uncles and aunts; other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Sunday, July 13, 2014, 4-8 pm with 7 pm prayer at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.
Funeral: Monday, July 14, 2014, 11 am at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.

Victoria (Vickie) Minnie Mealey a/k/a Grandma Vickie, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2014 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital due to complications from a massive stroke.  Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends made her final days peaceful.

Vickie was born on June 8, 1941 in Litchfield, MN to Viggo and Minnie Christensen.  She has 3 sisters and 6 brothers – Ruth, Darold, Viggo and Thomas; preceded in death by James, Robert, Gerald, Mary and Doris.

Vickie was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers.  Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many.  Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.

Possessing a true servant’s heart, Vickie faithfully cared for family and friends.  Vickie was a woman of faith and the heart of her family.  With a real zest for life, Vickie loved to go to the cabin, the casino, play games/cards – especially with her grandchildren, chat and have coffee with friends and family.

Vickie is survived by her children – David Braatz, Andrea (Donovan) Hanson, and Beth (Chris) Chapman and daughter-in-law Joleen Braatz.  Grandmother to 12; Josh, Dan, Hope, Courtnie, Adam, Charlie, Jasamyne, Casey, Jaibyne, Samaya, Noah and Luke.  Great Grandmother to Orion and Kadence.

Vickie was preceded in death by her son Mark Braatz, parents, siblings and husband James Mealey.

Vickie’s legacy will be carried on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren – the lives she formed and touched by her love.
