Michael G. Boltz, 54

Boltz, Michael Greg, age 54 of Dassel, MN suddenly passed away on June 6, 2011. He was born July 17, 1956 in Litchfield, MN to Donald and Dorothy Boltz. Mike’s early years were spent on a farm north of Cokato and attending Ojanpera Country School. After graduating from Dassel-Cokato High School, Mike moved to Florida for a short time. Upon returning, he started working for Ailie Construction, where he remained his entire work life. He met and later married Josie Solomon. They have been together for 31 years. His life was lived for his grandchildren who supplied him with many a story to share with anyone willing to listen. Mike also enjoyed the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, sharing in their victories and giving his opinion on their losses. Mike enjoyed being with and laughing with his friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, and sister: Donna Boltz.

He is survived by his wife: Josie, stepson: Ryan Mobley of Hutchinson, Daughter: Rhianon Solomon of Dassel, grandchildren: Raven, Dakota, Angel, and Taya Mobley, and Annabelle, Jasmine, and Alyssa Solomon. Sisters: Karen (Eddie) Jepson of Darwin, and Sandy (Dennis) Montgomery of Cokato, along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11 2pm at the Evangelical Covenant Church of Dassel. Visitation 2 hours prior to service at church. Arrangements by Swanson Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato (320)286-2534.

Beatrice J. Lehtola, 87

Beatrice Jean Lehtola, age 87, of Cokato, formerly of Annandale, died Sunday, May, 29 2011, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

She was born Nov. 25, 1923, in French Lake, the daughter of Charles and Elvira Leinonen.

Beatrice was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in French Lake, and attended Myrback school. She went on to graduate from Annandale High School.

Beatrice married Ernest Lehtola, and resided in Cokato.

She worked at REA Electric in Maple Lake from 1960-1988.After retiring she worked at Cokato Manor until the age of 87.

Beatrice loved gardening, canning, and entertaining. She also enjoyed cutting carpet rags and sewing them, doing paint-by-numbers, and playing Muggins. You could also find her doing crossword puzzles and spending much of her day reading her Bible.

Beatrice’s smile, jokes, and laughter will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Yvonne; brothers Howard, Walter, and Arnie; sisters Hanna, Hazel, and Mary; and nephew Tim.

Beatrice is survived by sons Charles (Sharon) Lehtola, and Randy Lehtola, all of Howard Lake; daughter Jeanne (Randy) Morris of Bloomington; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Kangas of Annandale; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service took place Friday, June 3 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale.

Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.

Morena A. Clay, 40

Morena Ancero Clay (Hafften), age 40, of Cokato, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

She was born Jan. 10, 1971, in Cubacgyan, Baso, Biliran Island, Philippines; and came to the United States when she was 7 years old. Morena grew up in San Diego, CA, graduating from Southwest High School in San Diego.

Morena married Aaron Clay Dec. 15, 1991, in Chula Vista, CA. Aaron was in the Navy at the time, and the couple made their home in San Diego. In 1998, they moved to Cokato.

Morena concentrated on being a good Navy wife and a mother to their five children. She lived her life in ministry to the Lord, being active in “Girl Power” and “God’s Soldier;” and as an active member of New Life Assembly of God Church in Cokato.

Morena enjoyed art, cooking, fishing, BBQs, and shopping.

She is survived by her parents, Bruce and Enriqueta (Rita) Hafften; a sister, Mayla Macon (Hafften) of Cokato; her husband, Aaron, of Cokato; children Neah Hafften of Howard Lake, Troy Hafften, Channell Clay, both of Cokato, Shantell Clay of Litchfield, and Sade’ Clay of Cokato; granddaughters Jaiden and Lexani Martinez; and nephew and nieces, Jordan and Tiana Macon and Jazara Queeglay.

A funeral service took place Saturday, June 4 at 1 p.m. at New Life Assembly of God Church in Cokato, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements were handled by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.

Jeannie A. Bowers, 74

Jeannie A. (Lockwood) Bowers, age 74, of Howard Lake, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.

A memorial service will take place Thursday, June 9 at 7 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake.

Jeannie was born Jan. 14, 1937, and grew up on a farm outside of Waverly, attending country school, and later at Howard Lake.

She married George Libor July 25, 1953, and together, they had a son.

Jeannie was employed most of her life as a secretary in Hopkins, and then lived in West Palm Beach, FL. Jeannie moved back to Minnesota in the fall of 1991, residing in Lakeville until moving back to Howard Lake in 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Gertrude Lockwood; brothers Kenneth, Steven, and Ronald Lockwood; sister Kathleen Adams; first husband, George Libor; and nephews Mike Lockwood and Tom Deitz.

Jeannie is survived by her son, Les A. Libor of Buffalo; a sister, Carole Miller (Joe) of Long Lake; grandchildren Joel Libor of Minneapolis, Shawn Libor (special friend Jenny), and Dawn Suess (Steven), all of Hutchinson; great-grandson Jaden Suess of Hutchinson; sister-in-law Doris Lockwood of Eden Prairie; many nieces and nephews, many friends at Shoreline Commons; and friend Gladys Jones of Cokato.
