Arneson, Michelle Mae 60

Michelle Mae Arneson (McLaughlin), 60, passed away February 27th at her home in Howard Lake, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4th, at New Journey UCC in Hutchinson, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
Michelle was united in marriage to her late husband, Rob, on Sept. 23, 2006, in Redwood Falls. She recently retired from AT&T where she worked as an Accounts Payable Specialist for many years and was known as a hardworking and caring person who would help anyone when needed. Michelle enjoyed spending time with her dogs and riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle, but her true happiness came from spending time with her children and playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Jenny (Greg) Burkhardt of Mankato and Melanie (Alex) Henning of Buffalo Lake; sons, T.J. (Brittany) Caron of New Ipswich, New Hampshire, Andy Arneson of Buffalo Lake and Robby (Heather) Arneson of Bird Island, 11 grandkids, sister brothers, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arneson Jr.; father, Clifton McLaughlin; mother, Janice McLaughlin; and sister, Connie Thomas.

Carlock, Jacqueline Lee 58

Jacqueline Lee Carlock, age 58, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Homeward Bound-Atwood, Minnetonka, MN.

She was born on August 12, 1964, in St Louis Park, MN, to her parents, the late David and Judith Carlock (Ojanpera). She attended Michael Dowling School, then enjoyed 38 years working at Workabilities Inc. in Golden Valley, MN. Jackie enjoyed spending time with family, caregivers, and fellow residents at Homeward Bound.
Jackie is survived by her brother Todd, aunt Denise, and cousins. The family thanks and will never forget hospice and staff at Homeward Bound for the comfort you gave and the tenderness and sensitivity you all exhibited at the end of her life.

Stueven, Edna Pauline 103

Edna Pauline Stueven of Howard Lake, MN, entered Glory on February 18, 2023, at the age of 103 years and 11 months.

Edna was born to John George and Carolyn (Hohl) Seeger on March 20, 1919 in Buffalo, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at Pelican Lake Lutheran Church, Buffalo, MN by Pastor Nichols. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1936. As the youngest of seven siblings, Edna remained at home following graduation and lovingly cared for her mother.

Edna was united in marriage to Adolph Stueven on June 19, 1940 at Pelican Lake Lutheran Church. They were blessed with five children. Edna dedicated her life to helping with the farming operation, caring for and training their children, and serving as a loving caregiver for her mother-in-law, who lived with them for many years. Adolph and Edna were married for 64 years. She enjoyed growing roses and vegetables, watching birds, hand stitching embroidery and quilting. Edna lived on the family farm until November 1, 2022, when she entered The Good Samaritan Society in Howard Lake. She was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church, enrolling all their children at St. James School.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Adolph, siblings Alvin, George, Esther Hawkins, Catherine Varner, Meryl Catlin, and Dorothy Dixon. She is survived by one daughter Norma Shehadeh of Bullhead City, AZ, four sons, Michael (Marge) of Howard Lake, Gary (Deb) of Mound, MN, Brian of Big Fork, MN, and Jason (Jill) of Champlin, MN, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials preferred to St. James Lutheran School.

Mikkelson, Barbara Jean 79

Barbara Jean Mikkelson age 79, of Delano passed away on February 11, 2023. She was born April 9, 1943 in Waverly, Minnesota to Walter and Ethel Mahlstedt. She grew up in Cokato, Minnesota and was baptized and confirmed in Montrose, Minnesota.

After Barb graduated from Cokato she got a job at Munsingwear in Minneapolis and later at Target Corporation in St. Louis Park. She retired in 2001 from Orono Public Schools.

Barb married the love of her life in 1963 after Lowell finished serving with the US Army. They were married for 59 years. They lived in St. Louis Park and then moved to Long Lake and built
their life for the next 35 years raising 2 daughters. And then for the last 25 years they resided in Delano.

Some of Barbs favorite hobbies were reading, crocheting, traveling, gardening and spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite moments were spending time with her grandchildren, Alex, Cameron and Dani.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Ethel Mahlstedt, infant brother Wayne, sister Sandy and brother Kevin.

Barb is survived by her loving husband Lowell Mikkelson, daughter Kimberly (Rod)Sipprell, Grandsons Alexander (Tanna) and Cameron Sipprell, daughter Shannon (Mike) Cox, Granddaughter Dani Cox, brother Larry (Vivian)Mahlstedt, and many nieces and nephews.

Cardinal, Candy 71

Candy was born October 20, 1951, to Wesley and Gladys Houser (Krambeal) in Waterloo, IA.
Candy was a graduate of Buffalo High School in 1969 and married Stephen on November 27, 1971. This was a beginning of a marriage and friendship that carried them through hardships and happiness. Their union was blessed with three sons.
Early in their marriage they began in Montrose, Minnesota then moved to Watertown, Minnesota where they raised their three sons. Candy worked as a beautician for a few years prior to going to work at Prudential. Upon retiring from Prudential she thought she needed more to do so she went back to being a beautician. Candy enjoyed being a beautician and getting to know her clients. In retirement Candy enjoyed spending many weekends at the lake spending time in nature and with family and friends. She also enjoyed getting to watch her grandchildren doing what they love.
Candy was called to rest in Byron, Minnesota on February 12, 2023, surrounded by family. Services will be held at Swanson-Peterson Chapel in Cokato on February 21, 2023, from 1:00pm-3:00pm with a short service at 3:00pm.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life Steve, her parents, Wesley and Gladys, in-laws, Ervin and Florence, brother, Denny Houser, brother-in-law, Tom Cardinal and Conrad Hausladen.
Candy will be greatly missed by her three sons, Tom (Amy Petersen) Cardinal of Byron, MN, Tim (Merilee) Cardinal of Forest Lake, MN, Gerad (Melissa) Cardinal of Lamberton, MN. Two sisters, Susie Hausladen, Linda (Dale) Schwerin, one brother, Dean Houser, sisters-in-laws, Colleen (Greg) Donovan, Nancy (Barrett) Hamlink, Carol Houser, brothers-in-laws, Jeff (Debbie) Cardinal, Jerry Cardinal, grandchildren, Stephen, Derrick, Jaxon, Jordan Cardinal and Molly (Max) Voss, Mitchell, Matthew, and Maxwell Petersen, many nieces, nephews and friends.
