Sandra Smith of Kingston Minnesota passed away peacefully on April 23rd.   She was born to Jasper and Jeanette Day on 10-5-48 in Lebanon NH.  She was the oldest of two girls.  Sandra was proceeded in death by her parents and husband John Smith.

She is survived by her sister , Connie (Chuck) Bowdoin, Sister in law , Sheila (Bill) Hornocker,  son, Gunnar  (Kristi) Smith, grandsons Wyatt and Logan Smith and great granddaughters Brielle and Adalyn Smith as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces   and close friends.

Sandy and John were both very caring and giving people that took a lot of pride and active rolls in the Kingston community and local organizations.

Barbara Eloise Reed, age 86, of Cokato, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2022, at Lakeside Generations in Dassel, Minnesota.

Memorial Service: 2PM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Stockholm Lutheran Church of Cokato.

Visitation: 1 hour prior to service at church

Interment: Arvilla Cemetery

Barbara was born on June 24, 1935 in Litchfield to Lloyd and Elvira Anderson. She was the eldest of two daughters and grew up on the family farm on Star Lake. Barbara was baptized and confirmed at Beckville Lutheran Church. She graduated from Litchfield High School in 1953.

Barbara met Roy Kermit Reed and they were married at the Anderson home farm on March 12, 1954 in the midst of a blizzard and left the next day for Olympia, Washington, where Roy was stationed with the U.S. Army. They had three sons David, Timothy, Kevin. They lived in many areas, Olympia, Washington, St. Paul, MN, Litchfield, Dassel, and Cokato. They were married 44 years until Roy’s death on May 17, 1998.

Barbara cooked at the Dassel Bowling Alley and after that worked as a cook in school kitchens — Glencoe, Hutchinson, Waverly — and took great pleasure in preparing food for her family and for others. She also enjoyed gardening and had an extensive vegetable garden. Barbara was a faithful and very active member of Stockholm Lutheran Church. She was fond of animals, and had various dogs and cats through the years and was especially fond of her most recent cat, Tiny.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Elvira, her husband Roy, and her son David.

She is survived by her sister Norma (Richard) Marquardt, her sons Timothy and Kevin, grandchildren April, Jarrid, Amanda, Megan, Kasey, Kayla, Brandon and Marissa, and by numerous great-grandchildren. Also, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Johnson, Terry Lynn

Loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Terry was “Mama Johnson” to many because of her exceptionally loving and kind spirit. Terry graduated Summa Cum Laude from Saint Olaf College, received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Mankato State University, and attended the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Michigan, where she completed all of her coursework towards her doctorate. Terry had a 30+ year career at Honeywell, where she was a well-regarded friend, colleague, mentor, and leader. She loved storytelling, dancing, traveling, and a good laugh. Terry embodied her deeply held faith by loving her neighbors and being an active community member working for social justice. She is preceded in death by Bryant Merrill, her great love of more than 37 years, her sisters Sally Leese and Dorothy Swanson and her parents Douglas and Margaret Weed. She is survived by her children Sarah Larson (Ryan Holker), Laura Johnson, Bryant Johnson, and her grandchildren Gwyneth, Aiden, Brooke, Kilian, Hally, and Davis, as well as many relatives and friends. A service honoring her life will be held at 1:00 PM with visitation beginning at 11:30 on Friday, April 29^th at The Highlands Church in Delano. Dale Robert Trushenski passed away at his home on Sunday April 17th, 2022. Visitation will be at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran on Thursday April 21st from 4-8 p.m. Services will be on Friday April 22nd at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran at 11:00 a.m. with visitation an hour prior to services. He was born in St. Cloud Hospital in Stearns County. He grew up in Popple Creek, Minnesota on the farm. He went to school in Foley and graduated from Foley High School. He was a Parts Manager for his career, 15 years at Minnesota Paving and Materials (Hardrives) and various other employers. If you needed a part he was the one who could find it for you. He was a loved “father” by many. He loved to spend time with others and there was always food he had cooked for you. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, and spending time mowing the lawn on his John Deere tractor. He was married to Becky (Nikunen Wanha) on March 25th, 2020 in a private ceremony due to the pandemic and then in a public ceremony on August 8th, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Becky; son Ronnie (Kayla) Trushenski, his grandson, Otto; son Richie (Jessica) Hoheisel, Emmeline and Sawyer; daughter Rayme (Ted) Hoheisel, Sophie, Everlie, and Bryar; step sons Marcus Wanha, Daniel Wanha, Jon Wanha (Alyssa), step daughter Annika Wanha; mother Mary Lou Trushenski; brother Mark (Jackie), Andrew, Megan, and Rachel; brothers in law Jeff Nikunen and Charles Bigler; father in law Jerome Nikunen; niece Kayla (Nate) Beard, Nolan and Avery. Robert S. Komada, “Bob”

passed away quietly on April 13, 2022 at the age of 90. A life long resident of the Chicagoland area, he moved to Cokato, MN to be with his family. Bob proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War, achieving the rank of first-class petty officer. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Nancy; their daughter, Phyllis (Randy) Lundeen; daughter-in-law, Cathy Komada, and six grandchildren, Jacqueline and Vanessa Komada, Whitney (Andrew) Malovrh, Amanda, Becca and Alex Lundeen, and one great-grandson, Garrett. Preceded in death by his parents and son, Jeffery Komada. Special thanks to the staff at Cokato Manor for their dedicated care and kindness during this past year.
