Bob Pieti of Sun City, Arizona, passed away at the home of his step daughter in Delano on November 22, 2017, at the age of 69,years, 9 months, and 12 days.
Funeral Service: 4 PM Sunday November 26, 2017 at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church, 5939 Oliver Avenue SW, Cokato, Minnesota
Visitation: Begins at 2PM on Sunday at Church.
Robert “Bob” Donald Pieti was born on February 10, 1948 in Highland Park, Michigan to Edwin and Irma Norma Ingrid (Isaacson) Pieti. He grew up in Southfield, Michigan, and graduated from Southfield High School in 1966. After high school he went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in business at Michigan Tech.
Bob worked first at the White Pine Mine in Michigan as an auditor; he then went to work at Michigan Tech, as a university administrator. He then worked at Ray Dot in Cokato, Minnesota, and finally at Edward Jones in Minnesota, as a Financial Advisor.
On February 27, 1993 Bob married Kathleen (Bergstrom) Haataja. The couple was married in Cokato, Doug Halonen officiated. They made their home on Spring Lake in Dassel, Minnesota first, then Laguna Vista, Texas, and 11 years ago moved to Sun City, Arizona.
Bob had many hobbies among them were writing memoirs, history and also grants, he worked on the Keweenaw National Park at Calumet, Michigan and was instrumental in the parks development. Bob was also a minister at his church in Arizona.
Bob passed away suddenly at the home of his step daughter Carolyn (Paul) Kivisto in Delano, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 69 years, 9 months and 12 years. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Irma Pieti, and brothers; Clyde and Paul.
Survivors include: wife Kathleen of Sun City, Arizona. Brother David (Patricia) Pieti of Littleton, Colorado, sister-in-law Virginia Pieti of Farmington Hills, Michigan. Step children: Robert (Sara) Haataja of Cokato, Steven (Laura) Haataja of Cokato, Carolyn (Paul) Kivisto of Delano, Kenneth (Emily) Haataja of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Thomas (Teri) Haataja of Watertown, Minnesota, and Jeanne (Marc) Koskela of Lake Linden, Michigan. 40 grand children. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
