Brandon Phillip Scherping was born in Buffalo Minnesota to Russ and Debra (Ward) Scherping on January 5, 1990. He grew up in Cokato and was Baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Catholic Church of Darwin. Brandon graduated in 2008 from Dassel-Cokato High School. He went on to further his education at Alexandria Technical College where he graduated with an Associates in Applied Science in the Diesel Mechanic program.
On July 31, 2010 Brandon married the love of his life, Angela Nicole Anderson. They were married at the Rockford Laestadian Lutheran Church. They made their first home in Dassel and then moved to the farm in French Lake Township, where Brandon began fulfilling his dream of becoming a dairy farmer. He also worked as a Diesel Mechanic at Midwest Machinery of Howard Lake where he tore down and rebuilt his favorite of all machines, the John Deere tractor.
Brandon enjoyed hunting, fishing and chopping wood. Saunas, Louis L’amour novels and good ole’ fashioned hard-work. Most important to him was his wife, Angie, and two beautiful children, Gretchen and Ivy. He was always willing to lend a hand and share a smile. To him, life wasn’t about the clothes you wear, the car you drive or the money in your wallet, it was about the people you meet the memories and impressions you leave along the way.
Brandon passed away at North Memorial Hospital as the result of a work accident on July 15, 2013. Brandon was 23 years old and survived by his wife Angie and their daughters Gretchen and Ivy. Grand Parents Everett & Beverly Scherping of Freeport, MN, Marcia Ward of GreenBay Wis. and Margaret Danielson of Dassel. Brother Clinton (Brenda) of Longview WA. and their children Sullivan, Lincoln, and Griffin. Sister Alysha (Markku) Ravaska of Cokato and their children Sophia, Lidia, Gabriella, Noah, and Chase. Death leaves a heartache no-one can heal, Love leaves a memory no-one can steal. For those that we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear. Brandon was unique, outgoing and energetic resulting in many lasting memories.
